A pole dance camp is a chance to focus on technique, meet new instructors and unwind with people who share your passion. Camps can vary considerably. We have organised camps since 2017 — nearly 40 editions — and know what to ask before booking. Here is our list.

1. Instructors — who will actually teach?

Check the instructors’ names and experience, not just their number. Make sure their specialties match your goals. Summer Edition 10 featured Juan Palochino and Anete Blaua, among others. The faculty for the upcoming Iron Queen Convent 6 includes Natasha Wang and Michele Miccoli.

2. Training levels

Check whether groups are organised by level, such as Intermediate, Advanced and Master, and whether all key classes are available for your level. A poorly matched group can lead to frustration and make demanding strength-based holds harder to practise safely.

3. Training rooms, poles and workshop hours

Ask about the number of training rooms and poles, and the guaranteed workshop hours — our camps offer a minimum of 16 hours. Find out whether the venue is reserved exclusively for the camp: both training and social time feel different when you are not sharing with other groups.

4. Accommodation, meals and recovery

Intensive training needs good fuel. Ask about three full meals a day and vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free options. Recovery facilities such as a sauna, jacuzzi or pool can also make a welcome addition to your time between workshops.

5. Price, deposit and booking terms

Compare prices for the same package: accommodation, meals and all training. Read the deposit and cancellation terms, including what happens if the event is cancelled or you cannot attend, and whether you can transfer your place. Ask about instalments if you need a payment schedule.
