How to start pole dance in Katowice?
A beginner’s guide — from your first class to your first pole holds.
Want to try pole dance but unsure where to start? This guide answers common beginner questions: what happens in your first class, what to bring, how much it costs and how progress develops.
What is pole dance?
Pole dance combines acrobatics, dance and bodyweight strength training. Dancers compete internationally, while regular classes offer a way to develop strength, technique and confidence. Read more on our pole dance classes page.
What happens in your first class?
We begin with a full-body warm-up, then practise basic grips, spins and first pole holds with instructor spotting. Our beginner groups are designed for people who have never trained on a pole. You start with simple exercises, and we adapt the next steps to your abilities.
What should you bring?
Shorts and a top or T-shirt are enough. Skin contact with the pole helps you grip during holds. We train barefoot or use socks for some dance exercises. Avoid body lotion and oils before class: slippery skin makes gripping harder. Bring water and a willingness to try!
How often should you train, and when will you see progress?
Choose a training frequency that suits your fitness and allows time for recovery. Progress in technique, strength and coordination is individual — we do not promise a particular body change within a fixed number of weeks. Your instructor will help you plan the next steps.
